Non-Profit Number: 20-219-8960
Our events raise money to supply deserving and talented youths and adolescents with scholarships and athletic products in order to make their sports dreams happen.
Funds are also raised for the ALS Association (ALSA).   The ALSA is the only national not-for-profit voluntary health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS
through research, patient support, information dissemination, and public awareness.  Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's disease", is a
progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord. To learn more about ALS, please

Letters from Kids and ALS Victims

"I think triathlons are fun and exciting.  You get your adrenaline pumping. The team has helped
me by getting me outside more.   I have know most of the kids for a really long time.  I am looking
forward to many races.  Cristin is great!  She pushes me to my limits."
~Kooper Knutson, 10 years old, triathlete

“In the mornings when I wake up, unable to move, I think about the life I've lead.  It's been a good
life, but it could have been better had I focused less on myself and more on those I loved.  I wish
I had been less selfish and more caring to my family and friends around me.  Taken pity, rather
than raging.  This is a call to everyone to live life as well as you can for when the hand of God
comes to call you to Heaven, you don't have much time.  You have no choice.  Use your time
wisely and flood your time with love, compassion, forgiveness, understanding, beauty, and most
of all, appreciation and thankfulness.”
~Scott Passarello,  Lifelong Athlete & ALS Victim, September 17, 1962 -June 7, 2004

"Cristin, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I am thrilled to tell you that Hannah Rae received her new road bike yesterday!!  It is absolutely
beautiful and far more than we could have hoped for.  Yes, she did get the Allez Jr. Comp
double.  Quite an incredible bike! (And very different from her mountain bike) She's so excited
and can't wait to start training.  She said "goodnight" to it last night and "goodbye" to it when she
left for school.  It has a priviledged spot of display in our living room right
now.  I need to send you a picture.

Hannah Rae plans to learn how to handle her new bike and train lots with it this weekend (in
between 2 soccer games and a gymnastics competition).  Next weekend we're off to
Henderson, NV for a youth long course triathlon (400 meter pool swim/9.6 mi bike/2 mi run).  We'll
see how she does with this course and very little road bike experience.  We welcome any
advice you might have for her.

Words cannot express how much we highly esteem and value everything you have done for
Hannah Rae.  You have been an unbelievably great influence on her.  You have brought out the
best in Hannah Rae and showed her the best time.  What a mentor you are!  Getting her this new
road bike was above and beyond all expectations.  On the way home with the bike yesterday,
Hannah Rae asked me "I get to go to triathlon camp again next summer with Cristin, don't
I?"  I said "Absolutely...and I'm hoping to get you two together for some more training before
then...maybe to coach you on open water swims and transitions with wetsuits."

You are truly the best, Cristin!  If there is anything I can do to show you my appreciation for all
that you have done for Hannah Rae-please, let me know.

With MUCH respect,"
