Charter School Morgan Hill, 2006-2007
Miss Reichmuth's English & History Core, Class of 2013!
Welcome to Miss R's First Year at Charter School Morgan Hill. In the 2006-2007
school year, our students produced over 29 works of brilliance!  Our projects included:

Narratives: Students warmed up to the year and shared a bit of their life
with their new teacher.
Disability Reports: Three reports where the student either became,
interviewed or reported on the life of someone with a physical or mental
disability.  The students were then prepared to welcome back a student
that had a form of a stroke during the summer of 2004).
Injustice Research Reports: Students researched something that truly
troubled them in life.  Topics were unlimited.
Hominid and Indian Journals:  Students "became" a Hominid or Ancient
Indian and reported their lives within a journal.
Clan Summary:  Students were randomly picked and grouped together.
The goal of the clan was to survive.  Survival included unity and the tools
to survive.
Egyptian Reports:  Students chose an empire in which to report on.
Topics included:
Sumerian City-States (4000-2300 B.C.E.)
Akkadian Empire (2330-2100 B.C.E.)
Babylonian Empire (1800-1500 B.C.E.)
Assyrian Empire (1100-612 B.C.E.)
Chaldean Empire (612-539 B.C.E.)
Persian Empire (550-333 B.C.E.)
Egyptian Journal on the Chicken Mummification Project:  Students
partook in a mummification of two chickens in which they called: King
Cluck and Servant Steve.  There were several processes that had to be
documented.  Those were:
Disembowel Chicken (the "scientists" of the grade)
Mask
Artists (worked with all groups to ensure artistic and historical
accuracy)
Tomb
Sarcophagus
Ceremony
Pyramid
Canopic Jars
Feast
Greek Poems: Students wrote 15 different styles of poems and had to
choose 15 different Greek Gods, Goddesses, or Heroes.
Greek Plays: Students created plays including a minimum of 3 Gods,
Goddesses, or Heroes from Greek mythology.
Persuasive Essays:  Students wrote persuasive essays where they
were able to include personal behaviors and manipulative strategies.
Published Expository Compositions (Sequence, Q&A, Compare &
Contrast, Facts Embedded Story, Description)

were in charge of uploading their work to the I-net.  Nicely done, peoples!
